Terms & Conditions

Working together

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Introduction

These terms and conditions set out the basis on which counselling services are provided by Sarah Lemiech, trading as Dove Counselling. By engaging my services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully and raise any questions before we begin working together.

Sessions

Sessions are 55 minutes in duration and are held at a mutually agreed regular time, weekly or fortnightly. Sessions may be conducted in person, by video (Zoom), by telephone, or by online chat (Vsee), depending on the format agreed. It is your responsibility to ensure you have a private, uninterrupted space for the duration of each session.

Fees and payment

The fee for each session is £60, payable at the time of the session. Payment may be made by cash or credit card or such other method as agreed on the day of your session. Fees are reviewed periodically; you will be given at least four weeks' notice of any change.

Cancellation and missed sessions

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please give at least 24 hours' notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or not attended without notice, will be charged at the full session fee. I will always endeavour to offer an alternative time where possible.

Confidentiality

Everything discussed in sessions is held in strict confidence, in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. There are limited circumstances in which confidentiality may need to be broken — for example, where there is a serious risk of harm to you or to others, or where required by law. I will always seek to discuss this with you first where it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Supervision

As a member of the BACP, I am required to attend regular clinical supervision. Your material may be discussed in supervision in an anonymised form. My supervisor is bound by the same standards of confidentiality.

Professional boundaries

The counselling relationship is a professional one. Contact outside of sessions should be limited to arranging or rescheduling appointments. I am not able to provide crisis support between sessions; if you are in crisis, please contact your GP, call 999, or contact the Samaritans on 116 123.

Ending therapy

Either of us may end the counselling relationship at any time. Where possible, I ask for at least two weeks' notice so that we can work towards a planned ending. If I have concerns about your safety or welfare, I may refer you to another service.

Complaints

If you have any concerns about the service you have received, please raise them with me directly in the first instance. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact the BACP, of which I am a member, at bacp.co.uk.
